[Riddle] Through The Window

Well pretty much as the Title suggest. Its indeed a riddle. First one to post the correct answer wins. NO CHEATING!! No fun if you cheat XD
Dontae stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression I slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?

I think Dontae was stupid and forgot to remove the screan window as well, so when he tried to jump through the window, the screan prevented him from falling outside and ended up landing on the floor.
But then I read your hint and then it became too easy so I'm not even gonna give the real answer! XD
